Morgan Trent should shut his mouth.

DetNews:

Morgan Trent, former U-M cornerback, played one year under Rodriguez: "I'm not surprised because I know what happened, and I know what kind of rules were broken. I couldn't see how they were going to get out of that.

"Whatever steps need to be taken (to restore Michigan's winning tradition), I'm all for it. What is happening right now obviously is not working. I don't know how long they're going to let this last until changes are made. This year is going to be the tell-all what's going to happen. We can't have three losing years in a row. Not at Michigan. To lose seven of last eight games (in 2009) is an embarrassment."

You know what else is an embarrassment? Going 3-9, which Morgan Trent was a part of. You know what else is an embarrassment? Losing to Appalachian State, which Morgan Trent was a part of. You know what's embarrassing? Somebody mouthing off without realizing how much he's hurting things, instead choosing to run his mouth and be a selfish ass.

You know what else is embarrassing?

While you're talking to the press Morgan, how bout telling us how Dwayne Jarrett's ass tastes?

I keep hoping that these people -- and ESPECIALLY former players -- will eventually get a clue and just shut the hell up if they're going to talk out of their asses like this. I suppose I'm hoping in vain, though.

  2. I expected better from you, Brian. You should probably sit back and take a deep breath before posting.

  3. So, with everything that happened yesterday, you decide to lash out at Morgan Trent? How long will continue to make excuses for Rich Rodriguez? Let me guess, you're going to take the Tom Beaver angle and just blame it on the super secret conspiracy lead by Lloyd Carr to overthrow the new regime. Can't wait to hear your response, though I'm sure that you won't have the guts to post my remarks.

PS: Maybe instead of being "all in" for Rodriguez, you should try being all in for the University of Michigan for once.

  4. Thunder: Oh don't worry, I did.

Matt: One of the most ignorant comments I've had here, and that's saying something, considering how many Spartans mouthed off when I went after them last summer. Nowhere in this post did I make excuses for Rodriguez, and if you were paying close enough attention, you would've noticed that I wasn't bashing Trent for talking shit about Rodriguez - I was bashing him for talking shit period. You think Larry Foote and Rick Leach are happy about the last two years? You think they like Michigan being one of the lead stories on Sportscenter because of this current mess? No. But they're not running their mouths and spewing ignorance like Trent is.

Oh, and Beaver hasn't blamed it on Lloyd Carr, you're just making shit up now. You're also living in a fantasy world if you think there weren't people in the athletic department who tried to sabotage Rodriguez because they didn't like him. Hint: People have already lost their jobs because of it. No conspiracy, eh?

As for accusing me of being "all-in" for Rodriguez instead of Michigan: get a fucking clue. Read the blog, because if you're going to talk out of your ass, then you're right - I won't "have the guts" to post anymore of your remarks.

  5. Morgan Trent you should remember your level of preparation when you faced the beheamoth Appalachian State. You had the opportunity to get the biggest red ass ever at Michigan. Put that on your trophy shelve. Uferfan1

  7. Nice post.

Well before Morgan Trent decided threw Rodriguez under the bus in his Detroit News quote, he was already inked into Wolverine football history as one of the worst cover corners ever at Michigan in the last 40 years. He was poor at pass coverage, he was poor at run support and tackling and for interceptions and forced fumbles, he was a non-factor for Michigan over his 4 year career: only 8 interceptions.

The worst part about Trent's coverage skills was that he never had his eyes on the ball. Receivers easily got behind him and he was rarely, if ever, in position to make a play (bat it down, interception). His technique was hands up to disrupt the receivers vision. By then it was frequently too late. Catch, 1st down or touchdown.

    Thanks for the memories Morgan.

  8. First, how is Morgan Trent on an NFL roster.Secondly,it seems the seniors on the squad in Rodriguez's first season didn't want to buy in.That led to 3-9.Not many people, fans and others close to the program didn't want Rodriguez there. After the 3-9 debacle,it seems anyone has done thier best to dirty up the coach.I'm not making excuses, but you never heard of any of this when he was at West Viginia.I know it's a different bird, but its benn two years and ther hasn't been a story from the way back machine in Morgantown.Anything that can be used as something negative,is being used.If he took a dump in the wrong toilet,I'm sure that would be brought up.Bottom line, all that matters is wins and losses. He hasn't won much and if that continues be critical all you want.It just seems any kind of dirt that can be put out, gets to the news.

  9. Eight interceptions in a career isn't that bad, especially when he converted from receiver and wasn't a full-time starter from the get-go.

(For the record, I think Trent only had 7 interceptions, but that's still not bad.)

Donovan Warren only had 6 career interceptions, and Marlin Jackson only had 9.

I think your analysis is more anecdotal than anything.
