Capital Punishment

Michigan to play in Capital One Bowl vs. Florida
The Wolverines are playing in a New Year's Day bowl after all.

Michigan is expected to be selected to play in the Jan. 1 Capital One Bowl, 1 p.m. at Orlando on ABC.

The Wolverines will play Florida (9-3), the defending national champion.

Michigan hasn't played in the Capital One Bowl since the 2001 season. The game was called the Citrus Bowl then, and the Wolverines were crushed by Tennessee.

Casey Clausen threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more in No. 8 Tennessee's 45-17 win over the No. 17 Wolverines.

The Wolverines (8-4), playing Tennessee for the first time, had trouble from the start and couldn't stop Clausen's arm or his receivers.

Tennessee rolled up 483 yards, the most Michigan allowed all season. The Wolverines had also not given up more than 26 points this year and saw their four-game winning streak in bowls end.
