Programming note (Re: UConn Run Chart)

The Run Chart for UConn is halfway done, second half will be completed during the afternoon/early evening tomorrow (tomorrow technically being later today). In the future I don't plan on rushing it like this, I hope to establish a system that has me doing one quarter a night, starting on Saturday or Sunday night (haven't decided yet). My ultimate goal is to simply make sure it's out in time for Brian's Offensive UFR.

A programming note

An issue has arisen on my home laptop, preventing me from doing certain things, such as the Run Chart. Said issue is expected to be resolved either Sunday or Monday, so next week will feature the Run Charts for both Penn State and Illinois. Sorry for the delay.

I'm out for the day (Friday) with typical holiday festivities, and probably gone for much of the weekend too.

When I get back, either Monday or Tuesday:

• Requiem: Mike Hart. Obvious. I pay tribute to the diminutive warrior that won our hearts (ha!) for four years.
• Mr. Holland's Opus. I profess my undying love for Ken Holland and accept him as my Lord and Savior.

Hart Chart archive...

...is now up in the column on the left below the Lloyd Carr Era links. Reminder:

-Hart Charting did not start until the Penn State game.
-Wisconsin game was skipped, since the coaches and most of the players skipped that game too.
-Florida game WILL be Hart Charted at some point before the season starts.
-There will be some kind of Minor/Brown/McGuffie/Feagin(?)/Threet(?!)/HR Pufnstuf Chart for 2008. Coincidentally Michigan's departure from the "rock rock rock"* philosophy also makes charting more difficult. The spread/shred will no doubt make charting the running plays much trickier.
-My quest for some daily/semi-daily feature here at GS which isn't just some half-baked ripoff of MGoBlog's Unverified Voracity continues, without much luck, but I press on.

(* - At some point there will be a time where I come up with my own catchphrases in the Michigan blogosphere, but until that lightning bolt of creativity hits me, I shall continue to take advantage of the contract that all newborns named Brian sign which allows full disclosure and sharing of witty phrases and memes. High five, Mr. Cook, high five.)

Programming note.

A nuke is being dropped at GS very soon. Could be Monday, could be Tuesday, could be sometime during the week.

Topic: What else, Jim Leyland and the Detroit Tigers.

Hide the women and children. There will be profanity. There will be ranting and raving and incoherent drivel, which is fitting, since that's the product that's been on the field for the first 12 games.

Oh yes. There will be blood.

Quick note.

Similar to Brian's Upon Further Review archives (which need to be updated, by the way :) ), I'll post an archive of the Hart/Minor/Brown Charts from this season, and stick a link to it on the sidebar. Also, I do plan on doing a Hart Chart for the Capital One Bowl, if for no other reason than it gives me another excuse to watch that game.

Also in the works: Whimsical, analytical and perhaps at times emotional reviews of the careers of Chad Henne and Mike Hart. I might do one for Mario, too. Not sure.

I'm also trying to brainstorm for some new feature for GenSarc. I was thinking maybe something similar to MGoBlog's Unverified Voracity, with just a bunch of news snippets and YouTube clips mixed in amongst editorial, but I don't want to be a blatant ripoff. Suggestions are always welcome, either in the comments or you can drop Matt or myself an email.

As expected

Pryor commits to Ohio State. It was over a long time ago, I think. Michigan's chances were slim to none; they would've been better if Rodriguez had more time. Oh well. Good luck in Columbus, TP. Assuming he redshirts (although I guess they could use him in a Tebow role for year one), Michigan's defense has two full seasons to get all mean, nasty and Barwis-y to finally fight the spread.

On a side note, no, neither Matt nor myself are dead. Matt's off in nevernever land or something, doing god knows what. I've just been bogged down. I'm working on a Tigers preview (Opening Day 12 days away!), that should be up within a week or so.

Hart Chart...it's on the way

Brian over at MGoBlog is apparently working on getting the UFRs completed for the debacle, so I shall do the same in regards to the Hart Chart.

Matt is also *apparently* doing some preview of the Capital One Bowl. He'll probably call it the Citrus Bowl though, since he's against all corporate sponsors of any kind.

Yeah yeah yeah...

The Hart Brown/Minor chart will be up sometime in the wee hours of the morning, something like 1-3 AM. I've been bogged down by other useless things this week, so I'm behind schedule.

Also, I'm trying to come up with some more features for the blog here. Any suggestions would be welcome.
